Abstract
Introduction: Idiopathic ventricular fibrillation typically associates with short-coupled (R-on-T) ventricular ectopics, yet limited data exists regarding long-coupled premature ventricular complexes.
Objective: To assess prevalence and characteristics of IVF patients presenting with long-coupled PVCs.
Methods: Researchers reviewed consecutive IVF patients from five arrhythmia centers, including those with PVCs occurring after T-wave completion with normal QTc intervals.
Results: Among 79 IVF patients, 12 (15.2%) met inclusion criteria. Mapping revealed PVCs originated from the left Purkinje in 10 patients with long and short coupling intervals documented in 10 patients.
Conclusion: Long-coupled fascicular PVCs, traditionally recognized as benign, can be associated with IVF in a subset of patients.
